The NCAA lacrosse tournament has started and in a tribute to how far lacrosse has come over the past couple of years all of the games for the whole tournament are being televised on ESPN and ESPNU. The coverage has been great and displays the way the game has grown from exclusively a NY , maryland thing to a broader demographic with teams like Denver, ohio State , notre Dame , North Carolina making the final 16. There have been a number of very close and exciting games including come from behind victories, for Notre dame over Colgate and UVA over UMBC. I had a few people over the house the other day who are not lacrosse fans , but were hooked on the games once they were seduced by the scary athleticism of the athletes and the incredible pace of the game. lacrosse on the upswing. |
